Los Alamos Lab 2023 medal winners

Los Alamos National Laboratory announced the recipients of its most esteemed medals in Community Relations, Operations, and Global Security for the year 2023. This group of winners is being recognized for their contributions to the laboratory's mission and impact in these areas.


Green certifications awarded to two labs at Los Alamos

Los Alamos National Laboratory announced that the Chain Lab in Genomics and Bioanalytics and the Center for Integrated Nanotechnologies (CINT) have been acknowledged for their commitment to sustainability. The recognition comes as a result of the two labs' participation in the "Green Lab" certification process offered by My Green Lab on Nov 15th.


NMSU's Korean exchange program to address global challenges

New Mexico State University (NMSU) recently announced that students from Seoul's Sungkyunkwan University (SKKU) are scheduled to arrive in Las Cruces for collaborative projects with NMSU students. These interdisciplinary teams of four will work closely with professors and sustainability communication experts from SKKU and NMSU's Journalism and Media Studies and Creative Media Institute to produce videos addressing global issues, fostering international collaboration.


UNM WRC introduces 'Nurture And Thrive' fund in memory of late student

The University of New Mexico announced the launch of the Nurture and Thrive (NAT) Fund for late student Natalie Jude through its Women's Resource Center (WRC). The fund aims to offer unwavering support and emergency financial assistance to student survivors facing intimate partner violence, student assault, gender-based harassment, and stalking on Nov 15th.

Los Alamos National Laboratory announced the Open, Composable, Heterogeneous, Adaptable, Management Infrastructure (OCHAMI) to enhance support for various applications and workflows. The objective of OCHAMI is to establish a collaborative community where members collectively contribute to the framework's architectural direction, allowing individual high-performance computing (HPC) sites to address specific challenges and share resulting solutions within the community, according to a press release by Los Alamos National Laboratory.

Cal Ripken, Sr. Foundation to open STEM centers in Central New Mexico

The Cal Ripken, Sr. Foundation (CRSF), in partnership with ExxonMobil, is launching two new STEM centers at public elementary schools in central New Mexico. The first opening, at El Rito Elementary School, will be held from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Nov. 14; the second opening at Marie Hughes Elementary School in Albuquerque, will be held from 1:15 to 3 p.m. Nov. 15.
