Grammy-nominated composer David Arkenstone is playing in Albuquerque as part of his three-state "A Winter’s Eve with David Arkenstone and Friends" concert tour. According to Arkenstone, at this concert he will try to create meaningful memories of winter with the audience.

"With this recording, I set out to capture the feelings I get when winter comes around. It's an idealized winter to be sure, but I wanted to illustrate some of the moods that come over me during this unique time. It seems to me the earth is more quiet and there's more time for reflection and contemplation. These songs are like chapters in a book, with each sound painting embodying a characteristic or mood that is meaningful during this magical season.", said David Arkenstone.

According to a press release, "A Winter’s Eve with David Arkenstone and Friends" will debut songs from Arkenstone’s new album “Winterlüde,” which was a No. 1 Amazon Hot New Release. The album is partially drawing on experiences of Arkenstone's travels through small, snow-covered towns of Colorado.

Arkenstone came into prominence with his album “Valley in the Clouds” in 1987 and has been nominated for Grammys five times: 1992, 2000, 2004, 2020, and 2022. He boasts 1.1 billion streams worldwide with over 60 albums under his belt. His repertoire includes film and TV scores as well as music for popular platforms such as “World of Warcraft,” NBC Sports themes including The Kentucky Derby and Premier League soccer.

According to Bands in Town, at this candle-lit holiday concert, Arkenstone will blend neo-classical crossover, new age, Celtic, progressive rock, orchestral and world music into his concert experience. Apart from debuting songs from “Winterlüde,” he will also play selections from his other Christmas albums “Christmas Spirit,” “Celtic Christmas,” and “Christmas Lounge.”

The concert will take place at 7 p.m. on Dec. 10 at the South Broadway Cultural Center, 1025 Broadway Blvd SE, Albuquerque.
