UNM Hospital and AFT Union agree to resume good-faith bargaining

The University of New Mexico Hospital and the United Health Professionals NM division of the American Federation of Teachers (AFT) have agreed to resume good-faith bargaining. This development follows a ruling by a New Mexico District Court judge, who ordered that negotiations should continue while awaiting a decision on whether PRN (pro re nata) employees, or temporary freelance workers, should be included in the bargaining unit.

NMSU opens applications for agricultural leadership program starting January

The New Mexico Agricultural Leadership Program, a hands-on, 18-month initiative for professionals over 25, is now accepting applications. Designed to develop multicultural and knowledgeable leaders in agriculture, the program explores agricultural policy at both state and national levels and addresses sociocultural issues in New Mexico. Established in 2001, it operates under the Department of Agricultural Extension and Education at New Mexico State University (NMSU).

Application for Rancho Viejo Solar project under review in Santa Fe County

Rancho Viejo Solar, LLC has submitted an application for a Conditional Use Permit (CUP) for the Rancho Viejo Solar project in Santa Fe County, NM. The proposed project will span 680 acres and include various components such as a solar facility, a 1-acre collector substation, a 3-acre battery energy storage system (BESS), a 2.3-mile generation tie-in line, a 2.1-mile access road, a water storage tank with a diameter of 26.3 feet, and a 1,400-square-foot operations building.


Las Cruces set to break ground on new fire station
