Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham, who leads the state of New Mexico, recently used her social media platform to highlight ongoing efforts to address food insecurity and recognize the contributions of women in law enforcement.
On October 31, 2025, Governor Lujan Grisham commented on recent judicial decisions related to food assistance programs. She stated, “Today’s court rulings confirm what we already knew: there’s no reason to deny food to vulnerable Americans. New Mexico will continue to move forward with $30M in state-funded food benefits tomorrow so families can keep food on the table. #SNAP #NewMexico”.
The following day, November 1, 2025, she announced a new partnership aimed at improving access to fresh produce for those in need. In her post, she wrote, “New Mexico has your back. The Santa Fe Farmers' Market Institute is teaming up with New Mexico Department of Health Farmers' Market Nutrition Program to help fill the food access gap and bring fresh, locally-grown food to households in need this November. Qualified households”.
Later that same day, Governor Lujan Grisham turned attention toward public safety and representation within law enforcement. She shared: “Behind every badge is a story. From small-town roots to state-wide impact, the women of the New Mexico State Police are proof that strength takes many forms. Their paths may differ, but their purpose is the same, to serve with strength and heart.”
These statements come as New Mexico continues efforts both to combat hunger through state funding and local partnerships and support diversity within its police force.
