National Hispanic Cultural Center to host Noche de Familia

The National Hispanic Cultural Center (NHCC) in New Mexico is set to host a harvest-themed Noche de Familia event, according to the New Mexico Department of Cultural Affairs. The event, which will take place on October 20th at 4:00 p.m., will feature a variety of family-friendly activities such as leaf printing, a StoryWalk, crafting bat puppets, and participating in carnival games. Attendees will also have the opportunity to meet NHCC's new jaguar mascot. The evening will culminate with a free screening of the family film "Nocturna" at 7:00 p.m.

Enterprise Financial CDE secures $60 million allocation in new markets tax credits

Enterprise Financial CDE, a subsidiary of Enterprise Financial Services Corp, has secured a $60 million allocation of New Markets Tax Credits (NMTC) from the Community Development Financial Institutions (CDFI) Fund of the U.S. Department of Treasury. The credits will be used to support community development projects and qualified businesses in low-income and underserved communities. According to Enterprise Bank & Trust, the NMTC program spurs $8 of private investment for every $1 invested.


Medicaid renewal deadline extended

The New Mexico Human Services Department (HSD) has extended the Medicaid renewal deadline, providing an extra 30 days for Medicaid customers to submit their renewal applications. House Republicans call for action on crime: ‘If Democrats are truly serious about crime, then let’s come back to Santa Fe and quickly pass these bills’

In a recent press release, New Mexico House Republicans listed every crime bill that Republicans introduced during the 2023 legislative session that did not make it into law. Following New Mexico Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham’s recent gun ban, subsequent outrage, and calls for an emergency legislative session to address crime, House Republican Leader Ryan Lane thought it relevant to readdress these past possible solutions.
