The Downtown Las Cruces Partnership and the City of Las Cruces have announced the 10th annual Zombie Walk, a city tradition that promises to bring the community together in Las Cruces for an undead-themed gathering. According to a press release, the event is free and open to the public.

The City of Las Cruces encouraged everyone to participate in the Zombie Walk, stating, "Get your family, friends, and co-workers together and join us for a night of scares, laughs, and unforgettable Halloween memories."

The Zombie Walk is scheduled to take place on Saturday, October 28, 2023, at 6 p.m. It will be held at Plaza de Las Cruces, located at 101 S. Main St. Attendees are encouraged to dress up as zombies for the event.

After the Zombie Walk, a "Zombie Zone" will come alive with live entertainment by Radio Journey at 8 p.m. The festivities will include a Thriller Dance performance by Michele's Dance Academy and a midway. The Zombie Walk Parade along Main Street will begin at 7 p.m. and will lead to the highly anticipated Best Costume Contest. This year's trophy for the contest is sponsored by Zia Comics.

"We are thrilled to bring back the Zombie Walk and our collaboration with the City of Las Cruces means it will be bigger and better than ever before," said Jennifer Garcia Kozlowski, Executive Director of Downtown Las Cruces Partnership. "This event allows us to showcase our vibrant downtown and engage the community in a fun and unique way. Participants will have the opportunity to explore, immerse themselves in a thrilling atmosphere, and create unforgettable memories."

The Downtown Las Cruces Partnership (DLCP) is a collaborative organization that works with the City of Las Cruces and the State of New Mexico to foster a conducive environment for emerging businesses and stimulate future business growth in the downtown area. DLCP relies on funding from the City of Las Cruces and donations from downtown supporters. Their revitalization initiatives align with the nationally recognized Main Street Approach, which focuses on design, organization, promotion, and economic development strategies to rejuvenate historic downtown communities nationwide.

The 10th annual Zombie Walk promises to be a night of fun, scares, and unforgettable Halloween memories for the community of Las Cruces.
