The New Mexico Business Coalition has announced plans for the upcoming 2023 "heroes banquet" in Albuquerque. The event, which will take place on November 2nd at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, aims to honor local heroes, leaders, and veterans.

According to NMBS president Carla Sonntag, the banquet provides a great opportunity for New Mexicans to learn about the brave individuals who have risked their lives for the freedom and safety of others. Sonntag highlights the sacrifices made by these heroes, stating, "Some of these Heroes gave a lot – and some of them gave it all, losing their lives while protecting the rest of us."

The banquet, organized by the New Mexico Business Coalition and Rebound New Mexico, will feature various tributes throughout the night. The "Veteran of the Year" will be recognized, and the event will also pay tribute to first responders, including Officer Anthony Ferguson from the Alamogordo Police Department. Additionally, youth, business, and community leaders will be acknowledged for their contributions.

Jeremy Gay will serve as the keynote speaker for the event, with Jim Williams and Nancy Laflin serving as co-masters of ceremony. Funds raised from the banquet will be directed towards scholarships for children of fallen first responders and a donation to the "100 Club," a charity dedicated to supporting the families of fallen heroes.

Due to limited seating, attendees are strongly encouraged to register in advance for the banquet. The New Mexico Business Coalition, also known as NMBC, is an organization committed to improving the state through the support of its people, jobs, and businesses. According to their website, NMBC values qualities such as hard work, honesty, and efficiency.

The 2023 "heroes banquet" promises to be a memorable evening of recognition and gratitude for the local heroes who have selflessly served their communities in New Mexico.
