Study reveals humans reached Mallorca over a millennium earlier than previously believed

A new study led by researchers from the University of South Florida and The University of New Mexico suggests that humans were present in Mallorca, Spain, at least 5,600 years ago. This date is over 1,000 years earlier than previously thought.

Las Cruces issues breach notice over unmet healthcare obligations

At a news conference Friday morning, Las Cruces City Manager Ikani Taumoepeau addressed a Notice of Material Breach that was delivered to Memorial Medical Center and LifePoint Health on Thursday, August 30, 2024. Taumoepeau expressed that the City would hold itself and its partners accountable to their commitments.


UNM professor awarded $1.25 million grant for precision measurement research

Victor Acosta, an associate professor in the Department of Physics and Astronomy at The University of New Mexico, has been named a 2024 Experimental Physics Investigator by the Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation. Acosta will receive a five-year $1.25 million research grant to investigate the true limits of precision measurement. He is one of 19 researchers to receive this award.


Albuquerque partners with Corporate Volunteer Council for annual student supply drive
