The New Mexico Oil and Gas Association (NMOGA) has announced the appointment of Andrea Felix to the National Advisory Committee for Implementation of the BLM Public Lands Rule. Felix, representing the energy and mineral development sector, will serve a two-year term as a primary member.

The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) established the committee, which includes 15 primary members and 11 alternate members from various backgrounds interested in public lands. These members will provide feedback and develop recommendations for the Secretary of the Interior and the BLM Director on implementing the Public Lands Rule.

"We are thrilled with Andrea’s appointment to the Committee," said Missi Currier, President and CEO of NMOGA. "Her expertise will help make the Committee’s recommendations for the Secretary of the Interior and the BLM Director regarding the implementation of the Public Lands Rule that much stronger."

Andrea Felix brings extensive experience in energy and mineral development to her role on the committee. Her knowledge will be key in advising on matters related to implementing BLM’s Conservation and Landscape Health Rule, also known as the Public Lands Rule.

"I am honored to have the opportunity to serve in this capacity and bring my experience to the table as we help the Secretary of Interior implement critical recommendations around how public lands are used in New Mexico and beyond," said Andrea Felix.

The BLM plans to host its first committee meeting virtually on February 19, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Mountain Time.

The Federal Advisory Committee Act (FACA) oversees establishing and operating advisory committees. FACA ensures that meetings between federal agencies and groups they establish or manage for advice on agency operations or activities are open to public knowledge and participation.
