The Madrid Summer Law Institute (MSLI) offers law students an opportunity to explore new legal, social, political, and cultural concepts while earning five law school credits in a month. This year, 27 students participated in the program held in Madrid, Spain.
Professors Maryam Ahranjani, Sherri Burr, Paul Figueora, and Alfred Mathewson taught this year's course under the direction of Professor Ahranjani. During their stay in Spain, students visited the Madrid Bar Association to learn about becoming an attorney in Spain. They also visited Gobernación de la Communidad de Madrid with MSLI collaborator Professor Pilar Trinidad. There they participated in a moment of silence for victims of domestic violence and honored the government's commitment to ending gender-based violence.
The program provides more than classroom learning by offering global perspectives on law and fostering cultural exchange and professional connections. Participants gain a deeper understanding of international legal systems through this experience.
