Albuquerque Business First on Oct. 14 held its 40 Under Forty event at Topgolf to honor the best and brightest young professionals — under the age of 40 — in New Mexico, The Business Journals reported.

Albuquerque Economic Development fielded three honorees for the prestigious honor.

"Congratulations to all of the @ABQBizFirst 40 Under 40 honorees who are being recognized tonight, including our @cabq colleagues, Cristin Chavez-Smith, Gabriela Marques, and Jonathan Small!" AED tweeted.

Sponsored by Nusenda Credit Union, last year's class was also recognized since the COVID-19 pandemic cancelled an in-person celebration.

Previous 40 Under Forty honorees Deena Crawley, chief of staff and marketing director, Dion’s; Denzil Ross, chief operating officer and administrator, Lovelace Medical Center and Heart Hospital of New Mexico; Jaymie Roybal, assistant U.S. attorney, Department of Justice in the District of New Mexico; and Kyle Biederwolf, external affairs manager, Comcast served as judges for this year.

To be eligible for the list, nominees had to reside and work in the state and must be under the age of 40 as of October 2021.

Career outreach and philanthropic and community outreach factored into who would receive the award.
