In response to the risk of health threats from widespread smoke resulting from ongoing wildfires in New Mexico on Aug. 7 caused by factors such as high winds, heat and arid conditions, the New Mexico Department of Health (DOH) issued essential guidelines to ensure residents' safety, according to a press release. These recommendations are intended to mitigate the potential adverse effects of the smoke that has been generated by wildfires and human-induced fires occurring throughout the state.

At the 2023 Flash Memory Summit, Los Alamos National Laboratory and SK hynix are set to showcase the updated features of the ordered Key Value Store Computational Storage Device (KV-CSD). Schroer: 'I am honored to champion the needs of New Mexico seniors as the new cabinet secretary of Aging and Long-Term Services'

New Mexico Department of Tourism Secretary Jen Paul Schroer has been designated to head the Aging and Long-Term Services Department, succeeding Katrina Hotrum-Lopez, who retired in July, according to a press release. Lancing Adams, the existing development director, will take on the role of acting tourism secretary during this transition.


UNM senior director: 'Our Executive MBA students engage in a fast-paced, fully supported learning environment that helps them improve their industry knowledge'

The Executive MBA Class of 2025 has been recently introduced by the University of New Mexico Anderson School of Management, commencing its 24-month program in June, according to a press release. The cohort convenes every other Saturday for full-day classes, including two consecutive online synchronous sessions and two on-campus orientation and immersion weeks, ultimately culminating in May 2025.

Sen. Luján urges extension for veterans applying for benefits

U.S. Sen. Ben Ray Luján (D-NM) penned a letter to the Department of Veterans Affairs on Aug. 4, urging the extension of the enrollment period deadline for veterans applying for retroactive benefits under the Sergeant First Class Heath Robinson Honoring Our Promise to Address Comprehensive Toxins (PACT) Act. This initiative aims to provide greater access to benefits for veterans, according to a press release.
