The New Mexico Lottery has issued a reminder that lottery tickets are intended for individuals aged 18 and older. As the holiday season approaches, the organization urges those considering giving lottery tickets as gifts to do so responsibly.

David Barden, CEO of the New Mexico Lottery, stated, “The New Mexico Lottery is committed to helping educate our players about healthy play and to remind players to only gift lottery tickets to adults. As part of our commitment, we participate in the National Council on Problem Gambling’s Gift Responsibly Campaign.”

In the previous year, over 175 lotteries and community organizations worldwide took part in the Gift Responsibly Campaign.

Individuals seeking more information about responsible gaming can visit the Healthy Play page on the New Mexico Lottery’s website at nmlottery.com. Additional resources are also available through the New Mexico Council on Problem Gambling by calling 1-800-572-1142 or visiting councilonproblemgambling.com.

The New Mexico Lottery funds Legislative Lottery Scholarships for students attending public colleges and universities in the state.
