New Mexico State Representative Stefani Lord, representing House District 22, has accused the Chair of the House Consumer and Public Affairs Committee, Joanne Ferrary, of mistreating committee members. Lord said that Ferrary acted "with blatant disregard for the rules," a claim she made in a February 14 post on X.
"Rep Block and I brought up the continuous abuse to us in CPAC a few days ago on the floor; there was no change," said Lord. "CPAC Chair Ferrary mistreated us again yesterday with blatant disregard for the rules. This mistreatment and disregard of decorum needs to stop! Thank you, Rep. Block, for standing up and not backing down!"
According to Lord's post, she shared a repost from Representative John Block, which included a video from the New Mexico House Consumer and Public Affairs Committee (CPAC) meeting. Block criticized both CPAC Chair Ferrary and Health and Human Services Committee Chair Liz Thomson for what he described as "blatant disregard for the rules and complete unfairness." The video highlighted an incident on February 13 where a Democrat on the committee spoke for five to six minutes while reading from an electronic device, whereas a Republican was instructed to phrase their remarks as questions. Block urged committee chairs to review the guide for committee chairs.

On February 13, Lord took to X again to outline what she claimed were rules violations committed by CPAC Chair Ferrary. She accused Ferrary of failing to ensure equity among members by allowing a Democratic representative to speak uninterrupted for five minutes while she was stopped and interrupted each time she attempted to speak. Lord also argued that Ferrary was incorrect regarding a point of order being debatable. She expressed frustration over her voice being continuously silenced as a woman and said there is no equality in the committee. Lord called on Speaker Javier Martinez to intervene.
