For the first time in over two decades, hundreds of LGBTQ individuals from across New Mexico gathered to discuss policy and movement values. The event aimed to foster dialogue and build relationships statewide for future growth.

The organization reported an increase in staff and volunteers, enabling them to participate in more Pride events throughout New Mexico. This participation facilitated community conversations and attracted new members and volunteers.

Over the past two years, the group collaborated with partners to research attitudes toward trans New Mexicans in rural areas and communities of color. This year, they released findings that include messaging strategies on trans and nonbinary issues.

An LGBTQ Roundtable was convened to address access barriers faced by queer and trans individuals seeking behavioral healthcare. A forthcoming report will provide a policy roadmap for legislators aiming to improve access.

In a year when the entire New Mexico State Legislature was up for election, the organization implemented a thorough endorsement process based on community values. They actively supported endorsed candidates through various outreach methods, resulting in over 80% of their candidates winning.

The development of a new leadership program called the Legislative Fellowship was another highlight of 2024. The program is designed to mentor future policy leaders advocating for LGBTQ rights.

Their annual Resilience event was deemed successful, with contributions from performers, donors, staff, and volunteers marking it as a key event during Pride season.

Throughout the 2024 legislative session, including a special session on public safety, efforts were made to defeat bills perceived as harmful to LGBTQ people. Collaborative work ensured no successful attacks on trans New Mexicans or implementation of "tough-on-crime" proposals that could exacerbate addiction and homelessness crises.

The organization's team expanded from three employees at the start of 2024 to six staff members and two contractors by year's end. This growth supports their mission for LGBTQ liberation in New Mexico.

Recognition came from the New Mexico Coalition of Sexual Assault Programs, which honored them as a Community Partner at its annual conference. The organization looks forward to continued collaboration during the upcoming legislative session.
