Interfaith Power & Light (IPL) has expressed solidarity with those affected by Hurricanes Helene and Milton. The organization is offering prayers for the victims, acknowledging the diverse faith traditions that emphasize prayer, love, and compassion.

In a statement, IPL shared its concerns: “Our many varied faith traditions have taught us the power of prayer and the values of love and compassion. In the wake of Hurricanes Helene and Milton, the team at Interfaith Power & Light and our network of state affiliates offer our deepest prayers, from our multitude of spiritual backgrounds, for the individuals and families who have lost loved ones, their homes, and their livelihoods in these disasters.”

The statement also highlights ongoing challenges faced by communities impacted by these hurricanes. It mentions issues such as lack of clean water or electricity, while recognizing the efforts of aid workers and emergency responders. IPL also acknowledged congregations in affected areas that continue to support their communities under difficult conditions.

Rev. Susan Hendershot, President of IPL, released a full statement addressing these concerns.
