Santa Fe County announces upcoming Local Emergency Planning Committee meeting

Santa Fe, NM – The Santa Fe County Office of Emergency Management (OEM) has announced the next Local Emergency Planning Committee (LEPC) meeting, scheduled for Thursday, October 10, 2024, at 10:00 AM. The meeting will be held at the Nancy Rodriguez Community Center, located at 1 Prairie Dog Loop, Santa Fe, NM.

The LEPC aims to enhance community preparedness by focusing on hazardous materials safety and emergency planning. Its mission is to ensure that local emergency services and the community are prepared for potential hazardous material incidents by improving planning, coordination, and communication between agencies, businesses, and residents.

Community input is essential in shaping the emergency planning process. Residents, business owners, and representatives of local organizations are urged to attend to share their perspectives and learn more about how the county is working to improve safety and preparedness.
