This event coincides with the free residential solid waste disposal day at the Caja Del Rio Landfill, managed by the Santa Fe Solid Waste Management Agency.

The ordinance also encourages the use of reusable bags and establishes penalties for violations.

    Rancho Viejo Solar, LLC has submitted an application for a Conditional Use Permit (CUP) for the Rancho Viejo Solar project in Santa Fe County, NM. The proposed project will span 680 acres and include various components such as a solar facility, a 1-acre collector substation, a 3-acre battery energy storage system (BESS), a 2.3-mile generation tie-in line, a 2.1-mile access road, a water storage tank with a diameter of 26.3 feet, and a 1,400-square-foot operations building.

Completed one month ahead of schedule after a year and eight months of construction, this project marks the largest county road initiative to date. A Ribbon Cutting Ceremony will be held on Thursday, August 29, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at the intersection of Falcon Way and Avenida Del Sur.


  • Santa Fe County opens stormwater management report for public comment

    Santa Fe, NM - Beginning August 20, 2024, Santa Fe County invites members of the public to review and comment on the draft FY24 annual report for managing municipal stormwater pollution. This report, which is to be submitted to the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), outlines the County's efforts in 2023-2024 to reduce stormwater pollution under the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) permit NMR040000.

    Santa Fe, NM – Effective Tuesday, August 13, 2024, a contractor for the Santa Fe County Public Works department announced the delay of road improvements on Bonanza Creek Rd (CR-45) due to their current workload. The roadway revitalization project, which includes reconstructing roadway surfaces, repaving and adding safety features, is scheduled to commence this summer on four county roads (CR-45 Bonanza Creek Rd., Fin Del Sendero, Camino De Jacobo, and Camino Lisa) spanning all five Commission Districts.
