With New Mexico State University's football season approaching, Aggie fans are preparing to maintain the tailgating tradition. Revisions have been made to NMSU's 2024-2025 Tailgating Regulations for the upcoming season.

Changes to football tailgating regulations specify that the student lot will close two hours after the game or at midnight, whichever occurs first. For non-student lots with a 5 p.m. or later kickoff, tailgating is permitted from 11 a.m. until two hours after the game or midnight, whichever occurs first. For games starting earlier than 5 p.m., tailgating is allowed from 9 a.m. until two hours after the game or midnight, whichever occurs first.

General football tailgating regulations include parking in approved areas, no tailgating during the game, only one person may remain at a tailgate station during the game to watch equipment, and no alcohol consumption at the tailgate station during the game.

Specific regulations for the student lot state that vehicles are not permitted to be parked in or next to the NMSU Student Tailgate Field. Tailgating is allowed three hours prior to the start of the game until 30 minutes before kickoff. No tailgating is allowed in this area during the game. Individuals must be 21 years of age or older to consume or possess alcohol; glass containers and hard liquor are prohibited, and drinking games are not allowed.
