The Bernalillo County 4-H .22 Competition Pistol Team clinched first place at the New Mexico 4-H Shooting Sports Championships, marking their second consecutive year of triumph.

A press release by the Bernalillo County 4-H .22 Pistol Team disclosed that two of its members also secured top positions, bagging first and second place for individual shooters across New Mexico. The team further added a fourth-place finish in the Shotgun category to their accolades, with one member earning first place in the individual Hunting Skills competition.

The State Championships were held from May 2-5 at the NRA Whittington Center in Raton, N.M., as per the press release.

As stated on the New Mexico State University website, the 4-H Shooting Sports Program is intended for youth development. Participants not only receive training in firearm safety and shooting sports but also learn about responsibility, sportsmanship, and self-discipline. Across the nation, over 300,000 young men and women are part of the 4-H Shooting Sports Program.
