Eastern New Mexico University's women's track and field team began the 2025-26 season by breaking three school records at the Washburn Alumni Invitational in Topeka, Kansas.
Head coach Joshua Harden commented on the team's performance, saying, "This is what we like to see. I am excited to get to January with the full team."
Devyn Ericksen set a new school record in the 60-meter hurdles during preliminaries with a time of 8.78 seconds and later finished third in the finals at 8.88 seconds. Celina Thomas established a new mark for Eastern New Mexico University (ENMU) in the triple jump, reaching 12.18 meters (39 feet, 11.5 inches). Her teammate Jerriana McWilliams also achieved one of the top five distances in school history with an 11.53-meter (37 feet, 10 inches) jump.
SeiOriana Glass, competing for ENMU for the first time, broke the school's weight throw record on her fifth attempt with a distance of 16.08 meters (52 feet, 9.25 inches), surpassing Adilene Adame's previous record from 2018.
In other events, Riley Midgett (7.90s), Ambrosia Francis (7.94s), and Ericksen (7.96s) ran the 60-meter dash for ENMU; both Francis and Ericksen recorded personal bests in this event.
Midgett also competed in the 200 meters with a time of 25.54 seconds while Meghan Rodriguez finished at 26.81 seconds and posted a personal best of 1:28.89 in the 600-yard race.
Joella Mathilda nearly matched her personal best in the 800 meters with a time of 2:31.43.
Chama El Hadiri was runner-up in her first track competition as a Greyhound by finishing second in the mile at 5:12.24.
Aeriana Langley cleared a personal best height of 1.60 meters (5 feet, 3 inches) in high jump as one of ENMU’s most improved athletes this season.
McWilliams jumped 5.28 meters (17 feet, four inches) and Thomas reached 5.21 meters (17 feet, one-and-a-quarter inch) in long jump competition.
Olivia Lucero threw for a distance of 10.71 meters (35 feet, one-and-three-quarters inch) in shot put while Vivica Addison threw for nearly fifteen meters and Lucero added another throw over fourteen-and-a-half meters alongside Glass’s record-setting weight throw performance.
The Greyhounds will next compete at Northern Arizona's Friday Night Axe 'Em Open as they continue their indoor season into early next year.
