The Rio Rancho Players Community Theatre will host an event on Dec. 10 to celebrate the holiday season and serve as a fundraiser to assist the local community.

In advance of the event, RRPCT is collecting Christmas trees. “Our group is collecting 31 Christmas trees and donating them to local families that are in need,” Bobbi Huber, the marketing chairperson for the theatre told KRQE.

The theatre is partnering with Haven House and the Five Sandoval Indian Pueblos, Inc. to find people that need assistance. The Christmas trees collected will be decorated and displayed at the fundraising event, featuring food vendors, Santa Claus, and the families chosen to take home the trees.

The RRPCT  is Rio Rancho’s only all-ages community theatre group. It was founded in 2013 to bring high-quality, reasonably priced cultural art to Rio Rancho.

According to its website, “We focus on finding ways to introduce our members and our community to bigger, bolder, different, extraordinary artistic experiences you would never expect to get in Rio Rancho.
