The Old Santa Fe Inn has long maintained an air of history and, as a bed and breakfast, its team has long advertised that it strives to provide guests with “an authentic Santa Fe experience.”

Now, the property will be able to boast that its dedication to all things Santa Fe has paid off, as the inn has been added to the list of 300 Historic Hotels of America. It is the fourth Santa Fe inn to make the cut.

"I’ve had staff here that have been working here with us for 20 years, and with that said, the dedication, that passion, the love that they have for the property because we all love this property,” Amy Almodovar, general manager of the Old Santa Fee Inn, said in a KRQE report.

The idea that one can experience Santa Fe’s historic culture at the place is one of the things that keeps guests coming back, Almodovar said.

“Most of my guests are repeated guests and as they walk in, they greet us like we’re home,” she said. "This is home to a lot of my guests, especially to those that have been staying with us for many years. I’ve had guests that have been staying like 15 years ago and they come almost every single year.”

The inn dates to the early 1900s, when it opened with 43 rooms. It has since expanded to offer 58 rooms.

“We have restaurants, we have other properties, we have galleries, we have stores,” Almodovar said. “So being part of the program is going to help any business here in Santa Fe especially here at the plaza. This will help us in a great great way we will have future guests, revenue is going to come up, it’s going to help other properties.”
