A West Texas man was recently pulled over for suspicion of DWI and then proceeded to try and bribe officers to let him go.
According to KRQE, Tyler Handley, 38, was pulled over by the Carlsbad Police Department after officers observed a pickup with Texas plates weaving in and out of lanes, and when Handley was pulled over, he stated that he had been under the influence of alcohol.
The station reported that Handley tried to bribe the officers with $10,000 to let him go.
“Put that in your pocket and let me go,” Handley said. “There’s more where that came from.”
According to the station, Handley is now facing a third DWI charge, along with the bribery charge which is a felony in the state.
Handley was pulled over wearing Dallas Cowboys apparel after the team lost in the Wild Card round of the NFL playoffs, and when asked to take a sobriety test by officers, Handley refused. His LinkedIn profile states that he owns a drilling company and works in the Texas oil fields.
When an officer pleaded with Handley to take the sobriety tests, Handley replied, “Just take me, man. Just take me,” according to KRQE.
At the police station, Handley tried to urinate on the floor and break his handcuffs on a nearby table, along with insulting police officers.
“We’re all guys here,” Handley stated. “Y’all better than me? You’re not. Look at my salary.”
