Tammy Harris, a traveling nurse from North Carolina who came to Albuquerque, was targeted by thieves, and now she says this could be her last stint as the stolen items were important for her livelihood.

“My recruiter is aware, I don’t know how far I can take it," Harris told KRQE. "I do have an appointment tomorrow to get my car fixed but, unfortunately, that’s an out-of-pocket expense that I have to pay for.”

Harris, from North Carolina, was about to end her eight-week contract in Albuquerque when she found her vehicle's rear window smashed and her nursing bag gone. Harris said she was disappointed in the "reward" for her service. “I took time away from my family to help someone else’s family. That’s what I do, that’s my job,” Harris said.

The supplies in the nursing bag were required to carry out her job — she carries them with her from assignment to assignment — and she’s unsure if she will get reimbursed for the loss.

Harris filed a police report; however, there were no cameras in the vicinity of her car.

“If someone is just willing to turn it in anonymously, I would feel better. I would have my personal items back, my work items back, and then everyone can move forward,” Harris said.
