NMSU: High school students participate in asteroid tracking as part of the NMSU Summer Science Program
Over the summer, New Mexico State University (NMSU) introduced its Summer Science Program, a nonprofit initiative that provides an immersive experience in experimental science to high school juniors and seniors, the university said in a Sept. 5 press release. NMSU welcomed nearly 30 students into this program for the first time, the release said.

New Mexico State University (NMSU) reported on Aug. 21 that Patricia Sullivan has been awarded the Hispanic Engineer National Achievement Awards Conference community service-academia award by Great Minds in STEM, according to a press release. Sullivan serves as the associate dean for outreach and recruitment in the College of Engineering with a dual role in the Office of Research, Creativity and Economic Development.

On Aug. 11, 2023, New Mexico State University (NMSU) announced that Cory Windorff, an assistant professor of inorganic chemistry at NMSU, has been named among 93 early-career scientists nationwide to be awarded cumulative research funding of $135 million by the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), covering a diverse range of research subjects. According to a press release by NMSU, these grants are part of the 2023 Early Career Research Program and benefit recipients from 47 universities and 12 DOE national laboratories, including Windorff, who secured the grant through the Established Program to Stimulate Competitive Research (EPSCoR).
