New Mexico Department of Tourism Secretary Jen Paul Schroer has been designated to head the Aging and Long-Term Services Department, succeeding Katrina Hotrum-Lopez, who retired in July, according to a press release. Albuquerque Public Schools (APS) has released its proactive measures to cool schools during a major heat wave, according to a press release.


Albuquerque Public Schools announces teacher union agreements

Albuquerque Public Schools (APS) disclosed on Aug. 2 that the Albuquerque Public Schools Board of Education has endorsed agreements with the teacher union, alongside the unions representing food and nutrition services workers and maintenance and operations employees. The Albuquerque Teachers Federation agreement, encompassing over 6,200 educators, has been approved for a duration of two school years, according to a press release by APS.
