Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham of New Mexico will participate in the U.N. Climate Change Conference (COP30) in Brazil this November as part of a U.S. delegation made up of more than 100 local leaders. The group is attending the COP30 Local Leaders Forum.
Governor Lujan Grisham will be joined by Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers, who co-chairs the U.S. Climate Alliance; Gina McCarthy, managing co-chair of America Is All In; and Phoenix Mayor Kate Gallego, chair of Climate Mayors.
The delegation’s trip is organized by America Is All In, Climate Mayors, and the U.S. Climate Alliance. Its goal is to highlight how American cities and states are maintaining climate progress and renewing commitments to international cooperation on climate issues. The participating leaders plan to reinforce their support for the Paris Agreement’s objectives and share examples of local initiatives that reduce energy costs, create jobs, and decrease pollution.
