Eastern New Mexico University’s track and field teams are set to begin their 2025-26 indoor season at the Washburn Alumni Invitational in Topeka, Kansas. The event will be held at the Sneed Indoor Athletic Facility and is scheduled to feature 762 student-athletes from 48 programs. Eastern New Mexico University (ENMU) has entered 44 athletes into the competition.

The Greyhounds bring back several athletes who scored points at last season’s Lone Star Conference (LSC) indoor championships. The men’s team returns Kyler Joe, Alec Forney, Brian Norton, Nicolo Salaris, Thomas Aerdts, Strahinja Radakovic, Wiliam McLilly, and Hemon Joseph. On the women’s side, Minerva Cerda Hernandez, Gabriela Elizalde, Meghan Rodriguez, Celina Thomas, Kennedy Ulmer, and Devyn Ericksen are among those returning.

Four ENMU athletes were named by the LSC as “athletes to watch” for this indoor season. On the men’s side are Kyler Joe and Angelo Bowser. According to the release: “Joe is in his second season at Eastern and competes in short sprint events. Bowser will jump for the Greyhounds this season and holds a personal best long jump of 7.05m (23-1.75) and triple jump of 14.77m (48-5.5).” For the women’s team: “Devyn Ericksen who is a second year hurdler for the Hounds... is joined by first year ENMU student-athlete SeiOriana Glass who will compete in throws for the program. Glass has a 15.61m (51-2.75) personal record in the weight throw.”

Several newcomers are also expected to make their debut for ENMU during this meet. Andre Smikle enters shot put competition ranked ninth out of forty participants with a personal best of 14.52 meters. Chama El Hadiri has recorded a mile time of 4:50—over twenty seconds faster than her nearest competitor this weekend—while Joella Mathilda ranks seventh in an 800-meter field of ten runners. Eloy Serrano Borrego comes into the event rated second among twenty competitors.

Competition begins at noon Central Time with women's long jump, pole vault, weight throw events, and men's shot put; men's 60-meter hurdles will start at 1:30 p.m., with streaming available on the MIAA Network.
