The Eastern New Mexico University (ENMU) women's basketball team is set to play Adams State University on Sunday at 3 p.m. in Alamosa, Colorado. The Greyhounds enter the matchup following an 80-52 win over Regis University on Friday night, which marked their season opener.

In the game against Regis, junior forward Chloe Dallas led ENMU with 13 points and four rebounds. Dallas also recorded four blocks, including a key defensive play against Emily Allison of Regis during the first half. Senior guard Hannah Jensen contributed by making all three of her attempts from three-point range and added three steals on defense. Aaliyah Smith was effective at the free-throw line late in the second quarter, helping ENMU extend its lead before halftime. Junior guard Julieta Ceja finished with nine points and a team-high six rebounds.

With this victory, ENMU begins the season with a 1-0 record and continues its streak of not losing a season opener since 2017.

Adams State University comes into Sunday's contest holding a 2-1 record after defeating Lone Star Conference member Angelo State 79-62 on Friday evening in Alamosa. The Grizzlies are receiving votes in recent preseason national polls and have three players averaging double-digit points: Kiyani Anitielu (19.3 points per game), Taejhuan Hill (18.7), and Ashian Hunter (10.3). Defensively, Adams State has forced 32 turnovers while committing only 19 as a team so far this season and averages 10.7 steals per game.

ENMU currently leads the overall series against Adams State by one game, with seven wins to six losses.

The upcoming matchup is expected to be competitive as both teams look to build on their early-season successes.
