The Eastern New Mexico University (ENMU) volleyball team is set to play Oklahoma Christian on Friday in a Lone Star Conference matchup. The Greyhounds are seeking to end a 10-match losing streak as they approach the final games of their regular season.
Sophia Valdez has been a key player for ENMU, ranking fourth in the conference with 329 kills, averaging 3.54 per set. She has also contributed 106 digs and holds a .182 hitting percentage this season. Addison Bartlett has added 184 kills, averaging 2.07 per set, and is second on the team with 211 digs. Bartlett leads ENMU with 29 service aces.
Amya Speller has made an impact at the net with 151 kills and leads the team in blocks with 77.0 this season. Setter Violeta Flores has provided direction for the offense, tallying 412 assists and adding 24 serving aces.
On defense, libero Imahni Brown leads ENMU with 400 digs, ranking seventh in the conference at an average of 4.30 per set, and she has contributed 27 serving aces. Aaliyah Butler has supported the team’s efforts with 91 kills and 21 blocks.
This season, ENMU holds a record of four wins and twenty-three losses overall, including one win and fourteen losses in conference play. The team has recorded a total of 1,025 kills compared to opponents’ combined total of 1,121 kills. The Greyhounds have posted a .119 hitting percentage while allowing opponents to hit .217.
ENMU's other statistics include recording fewer assists (936) than their opponents (998), fewer service aces (132 versus opponents' 163), fewer digs (1,362 compared to opponents' 1,523), and fewer blocks (159 versus opponents'171).
Oklahoma Christian enters Friday’s match with a record of seventeen wins and nine losses overall and nine wins against six losses in conference play. They recently ended a three-match losing streak by defeating Dallas Baptist on the road. Annie Davis leads Oklahoma Christian with 272 kills while Chloe Jones adds another strong performance with both offensive and defensive contributions.
Oklahoma Christian currently leads the all-time series against ENMU three games to two; ENMU last defeated them in 2022.
After facing Oklahoma Christian, ENMU will finish its regular season on Saturday against Cameron University.
