Late in the second quarter, Western New Mexico managed to put points on the board. Ackerley’s 21-yard rush set up Savoie for a one-yard touchdown run, followed by an extra point from Talan Tinsley. The Mustangs ended the half trailing as Texas A&M-Kingsville maintained control.

The fourth quarter saw Western New Mexico’s offense struggle with turnovers and penalties. Quarterback Eli Wehbey completed several passes on later drives but was unable to generate significant yardage or points as TAMUK continued its dominance until the final whistle.
