The Eastern New Mexico University women's soccer team lost 4-0 to UT Tyler on Tuesday at the Citizens First Bank-Perkins Soccer Complex in Tyler, Texas. The Greyhounds have yet to win a game this season, holding a record of 0-15 overall and 0-12 in conference play, while the Patriots improved to 10-2-4 overall and 7-2-4 in the conference.
UT Tyler took an early lead with a goal from Melissa Oliveira just 52 seconds after kickoff. The Patriots controlled possession throughout the first half, outshooting Eastern New Mexico 15-0 and carrying a 1-0 advantage into halftime.
In the second half, Oliveira scored again at the 49:08 mark. Sarah Hayes added another goal in the 57th minute with help from Natalie Jones, and Danica Anaya finished the scoring in the 65th minute, assisted by Marin Love and Katie Wong.
Eastern New Mexico's goalkeeper Rosie Willmott Joyce recorded six saves despite consistent offensive pressure from UT Tyler. Over the course of the match, UT Tyler attempted 26 shots with ten on target. The Greyhounds did not register any shots during the game.
The Greyhounds will return home for their last regular-season home match on Friday, November 1. They will face Midwestern State at Steve Loy Family Foundation Stadium in Portales. Senior Day celebrations are scheduled to start at 9:30 a.m., followed by the match.
