Eastern New Mexico volleyball hosts Midwestern State for Halloween-themed matchup

The Eastern New Mexico University volleyball team is set to host Midwestern State University in a Lone Star Conference match on Tuesday, October 28. The game will take place at 6 p.m. in the Steve Loy Family Foundation Arena and will include a Halloween Theme Night.

The Greyhounds currently have a record of 4-17 overall and 1-9 in conference play. Team leader Sophia Valdez ranks third in the Lone Star Conference with 262 kills (3.64 per set) and has contributed 75 digs this season while maintaining a .203 hitting percentage. Addison Bartlett has added 151 kills (2.19 per set) and is second on the team with 195 digs (2.83 per set).

Defensive specialist Imahni Brown leads Eastern New Mexico with 325 digs (4.51 per set), ranking seventh in the conference, and also has a team-high 24 service aces. Amya Speller has recorded 108 kills (1.50 per set) and leads the team with 56 blocks (0.78 per set). Violeta Flores runs the offense with 332 assists (5.19 per set) and has added 16 service aces, while Aaliyah Butler contributes both offensively and defensively with 76 kills (1.33 per set) and 23 blocks.

As a group, ENMU has posted totals of 809 kills, a .122 hitting percentage, and averages of over ten assists, one service ace, fifteen digs, and nearly two blocks per set this season.

Midwestern State comes into the match with a record of 13-7 overall and a conference mark of 6-5. The Mustangs are led by Trinity Vinzant who has accumulated 255 kills (3.23 per set), along with notable contributions from Isabella Dickens, Demi Stauffenberg, and Jaiden Wright.

This will be the teams' forty-seventh meeting; ENMU holds a slight edge in their all-time series at twenty-four wins to twenty-two losses for Midwestern State. Both teams are looking to end losing streaks: Eastern New Mexico has lost four matches since defeating New Mexico Highlands on October 13, while Midwestern State is coming off three straight losses.
