Eastern New Mexico University's women's soccer team was defeated 1-0 by Angelo State in a Lone Star Conference match on Wednesday at the Steve Loy Family Foundation Stadium in Portales, New Mexico.
The Greyhounds, who remain winless this season with a record of 0-13-0 overall and 0-10-0 in conference play, managed to hold Angelo State to a single goal despite facing persistent offensive pressure from the Belles. Goalkeeper Rosie Willmott Joyce made nine saves, including key stops late in the game against Abby James and Graycen Rasmussen.
On offense, Eastern New Mexico generated some chances. Louise Godden took two shots while Kaylee Baker had one shot on goal. The defensive lineup—Simone Brothers, Kaylee Baker, Sophia Jeffres, and Meredith Brown—worked together to restrict Angelo State's opportunities throughout the match.
Looking ahead, Eastern New Mexico will travel to San Antonio for their next conference game against St. Mary's on Sunday, October 26.
