ENMU women's soccer seeks first win of season against Sul Ross State

The Eastern New Mexico University (ENMU) women's soccer team is set to play Sul Ross State University in a Lone Star Conference match on Wednesday in Alpine, Texas. The game will begin at 12 p.m. Mountain Time at the Lobo Soccer Field.

ENMU is looking for its first win of the season after a 4-0 loss to Oklahoma Christian on October 11. So far this season, the Greyhounds have scored only one goal and allowed 47 across ten matches. Louise Godden has been ENMU's only goal scorer, taking 11 shots with four on target.

Sul Ross State faces similar challenges, entering the match with a 1-10 overall record and an 0-7 mark in conference play. The Lobos have scored three goals and conceded 30 over eleven games. Cali Trigg leads Sul Ross State with two goals, while Kari Villatoro has added one.

Both teams have struggled statistically this season. ENMU has been outshot by opponents 237-49 and trails in shots on goal by 121-24. Opponents also hold a 74-11 advantage in corner kicks against ENMU. Sul Ross State has been outshot 265-57, with opponents holding a 143-28 edge in shots on goal and an 87-11 lead in corner kicks.

ENMU leads the all-time series between the schools 1-0. After Wednesday’s match, the Greyhounds will return home to host West Texas A&M on Saturday, October 18 at Steve Loy Family Foundation Stadium.
