Western New Mexico women’s golf finishes first round at NCAA regional preview

The Western New Mexico University women's golf team completed the first round of the NCAA Division II West Regional Preview at Pueblo Country Club in Pueblo, Colorado, on October 13. The Mustangs finished in twentieth place with a team score of 324, or 40 strokes over par.

Corynn Speer led the Mustangs with a round of 78 (+7), placing her in a tie for 36th out of 110 competitors. Alexandria Klemke followed with an 81 (+10), ending the day tied for 70th. Falyn Lackey shot an opening round of 82 (+11), finishing tied for 78th.

Nicole Jasso carded an 83 (+12) to finish tied for 86th, while Erin Turner rounded out the lineup with an 89 (+18), placing her in a tie for 103rd.

"The Lady Mustangs are within eleven shots of 12th place and will look to make a final round charge as the NCAA West Regional Preview continues tomorrow, October 14th, in Pueblo, Colorado," according to Western New Mexico University Athletics.
