Western New Mexico University's men's cross country team finished sixth at the UC Riverside Invitational in California. The event, held in Riverside, featured 293 runners in the Men's Open 8K race.
Samuel Ketchum led the Mustangs with a 15th-place finish and recorded a season-best time of 25:20.1. Michael Castorena and Ameen Ibrahim followed with strong performances, finishing 26th and 37th respectively, both achieving their best times this season at 25:35.4 and 25:46.5.
Other notable results for Western New Mexico included Cameron Shorty’s season-best time of 26:02.8 and personal records from Morgan Haan (26:49.1), Jacob Corral (26:57.1), and Jonah Cortez (28:12.6). Dax Rios also set a season-best with a time of 28:48.6.
The Mustangs will next compete at the Old Glory Gallop hosted by Dallas Baptist University on October 11 in Dallas, Texas.
