The Eastern New Mexico University volleyball team ended its three-match winning streak with a 3-0 loss to Texas A&M-Kingsville on Saturday in Kingsville, Texas. The match scores were 20-25, 18-25, and 13-25.
Sophia Valdez led the Greyhounds with ten kills and a .350 hitting percentage. Addison Bartlett contributed eight kills, while Amya Speller added five. Imahni Brown recorded 12 digs during the match. The team finished with eight blocks, including six assisted and two solo.
Texas A&M-Kingsville limited Eastern New Mexico to a .061 hitting percentage, which was the lowest for the Greyhounds since their match against Southwestern Oklahoma State on September 11, when they hit .010.
The Javelinas had not beaten Eastern New Mexico in four consecutive matches before this win. The last victory for the Greyhounds over Texas A&M-Kingsville occurred on September 10, 2022, in Austin, Texas.
Eastern New Mexico will return home next weekend for its 2025 home opener against Texas Woman's University on October 3 and Dallas Baptist University (DBU) on October 4.
