New Mexico United highlights academy graduates continuing college soccer careers

ORGANIZATIONS IN THIS STORY

New Mexico United has recognized several of its Academy graduates who have continued their soccer careers at the collegiate level. The club highlighted the achievements and contributions of these players, noting their commitment both on and off the field.

The announcement listed members of the 2025 freshman class, including Jace Sais at University Nevada Las Vegas, Marco Lara at Regis University, Evan Kraenzel at University of the Incarnate Word, Garner Wolfe at University of Central Arkansas, Chase Ricker and Cole Bachuzewski at University of Evansville, Malcolm Starr at University of Evansville, and Jamal Bynum at Colorado State University Pueblo.

Several returning collegiate players were also acknowledged. Wylie Trujillo transferred to University of Portland from Gonzaga University. Alex Waggoner moved from University of Michigan to University of Portland after earning honors such as Gatorade Player of the Year 2022. Miles Merritt transferred from University of the Incarnate Word to Michigan State University and was included on the Big Ten Players to Watch List.

Other notable mentions include Andres Robles transferring to University of Nevada Las Vegas; Mikah Madrid joining UNLV after time with New Mexico United’s USL League Two U23 roster; Yuto Oketani playing for UNLV; Miguel Regino and Denilson Velasquez representing Utah Tech University; Taylor Rogers starting in most games for Utah Tech; Evan Kowalski transferring to Carthage College; Javier Trujillo earning Skyline Conference Rookie of the Year at Mount Saint Vincent University; Noah Roles taking a starting role with Colorado School of Mines; Poalo Vela achieving multiple academic honors while playing for Wofford College; Josiah Henderson appearing for Incarnate Word; and Aidan Semelsberger competing for Denver University.

New Mexico United stated: "Their commitment on and off the pitch has left a lasting impact on the United community. As they move forward, they carry with them the values of hard work, humility, diligence, and action that define what it means to wear Black & Yellow."

The club added: "From everyone at New Mexico United, thank you for your commitment to representing the Land of Enchantment. We can’t wait to continue to follow your journeys in college. Somos Unidos!"
