The Western New Mexico University Women's Golf team finished tied for third place at the Poss High Country Shootout in Ruidoso, New Mexico. The Lady Mustangs posted a final round score of 310, bringing their two-day total to 612.
Falyn Lackey led the team with a fifth-place individual finish, recording rounds of 69 and 78 for a total of five over par. Alexandria Klemke followed with rounds of 73 and 78, finishing eleventh overall at nine over par. Corynn Speer had the team's best round on the second day with a score of 76, moving up seven spots to tie for fifteenth place.
Nicole Jasso improved her performance in the second round by shooting a 78 and ended tied for twenty-second place. Erin Turner showed significant improvement between rounds, lowering her score by six strokes to finish thirty-fifth overall. Kelly Peden competed as an individual and finished tied for twenty-eighth after shooting an 81 in the final round.
The Lady Mustangs are scheduled to compete next at the WT Women's Invitational in Amarillo, Texas from September 29-30.
