Eastern New Mexico women's soccer falls to Fort Lewis College in non-conference play

The Eastern New Mexico University women's soccer team lost to Fort Lewis College 5-0 in a non-conference match held Thursday evening at Dirk's Field in Durango, Colorado.

Fort Lewis, now holding a record of 2-0-1, scored the first goal in the 26th minute. The Skyhawks added another just before halftime in the 39th minute after a penalty was awarded following a foul called on Greyhounds goalkeeper Aja Gonzales inside the box.

In the second half, Fort Lewis added three more goals. The Greyhounds, who are now 0-2 for the season, managed eight shots during the match, with five on target.

Arissa C'DeBaca led Eastern New Mexico with three shots, two of which were on goal. Goalkeeper Aja Gonzales made eight saves after facing 24 shots from Fort Lewis, including 13 on target.

The Greyhounds will remain in Colorado for their next game against Adams State. The match is scheduled to begin at 3 p.m. on Saturday.
