New Mexico United secured a 4-0 win at home on Saturday, moving into third place in the USL Championship’s Western Conference. The match, played at Rio Grande Credit Union Field at Isotopes Park, drew 7,347 fans.
The team took an early lead in the fifth minute when midfielder Zico Bailey scored from 55 yards out. Chris Gloster added a second goal in the 20th minute by finishing a rebound inside the box.
In the second half, Greg Hurst scored United’s third goal with a header from a Dayonn Harris corner in the 70th minute. Valentin Noël completed the scoring during stoppage time after breaking free on a counterattack.
With this result, New Mexico United has now won two matches in a row and scored five goals over that span. The victory moves them into third place and gives them momentum as they approach the end of the regular season.
