The Lone Star Conference (LSC) has released its 2025 preseason volleyball polls, placing Eastern New Mexico University’s team at 16th out of 18 teams. The Greyhounds earned 204 points in the poll, ranking ahead of Cameron and Sul Ross State. Voting for the poll included coaches, sports information directors, and media representatives from across the league.
Angelo State, last year’s LSC tournament champion and NCAA Division II national semifinalist, is predicted to win the conference title after receiving 933 points and 30 first-place votes. West Texas A&M followed closely with 919 points and 18 first-place votes.
Three Eastern New Mexico players were named as "players to watch" by the conference: Sophia Valdez (Offensive), Imahni Brown (Defensive), and Jayla Yoder (Setter).
"The team has spent a lot of time in the gym over the off-season, and we are just excited to be out on the court and competing," said first-year head coach Karli Bustos. "We know the conference schedule is going to be tough, so we are really looking forward to a fun and exciting season and working towards our goals."
Eastern New Mexico will start its season at the Western New Mexico Invite on September 5 with matches against New Mexico Highlands at 9 a.m. and Sul Ross State at 4:30 p.m.
