The Western New Mexico University volleyball team has been ranked 15th in the 2025 Lone Star Conference (LSC) Preseason Poll, according to an announcement from the league office. The poll results were determined by votes from head coaches, sports information directors, and selected media members across the conference.
Angelo State received the highest ranking in the poll with 933 points and secured 30 out of 54 first-place votes. West Texas A&M followed closely behind for the preseason No. 1 position. Additionally, Angelo State's junior outside hitter Madi Parrish was named LSC Preseason Player of the Year.
Three Western New Mexico student-athletes were highlighted as Players to Watch for the upcoming season. Senior outside hitter Carley Deck was recognized as the Mustangs' Offensive Player to Watch. Junior libero Mikelle McAfee was named Defensive Player to Watch, and freshman setter Kiara McDuffie was selected as Setter to Watch for 2025.
The Mustangs will begin their season on September 5-6 at Drag's Court by hosting the Mustang Volleyball Invitational.
