Western New Mexico University's men's golf, men's tennis, and women's tennis teams have been named Lone Star Conference (LSC) Academic Champions for the 2024-25 academic year. These programs achieved the highest grade point averages (GPA) in their respective sports within the conference.

The LSC also recognized Texas Woman's University for women's academic excellence and St. Edward's University for men's academic excellence. According to the LSC, "This is TWU's third consecutive academic excellence award and eighth overall. St. Edward's claims their first men's honor."

The determination of these awards was based on a point system that compared team GPAs across conference-sponsored sports. The institution with the highest team GPA in each sport received five points toward the overall award, with additional points awarded to runner-up and third-place finishers. Any program maintaining a team GPA of 2.00 or higher earned at least one point.

For Western New Mexico University, men's golf posted a 3.703 GPA, men's tennis achieved a 3.805 GPA, and women's tennis recorded a 3.863 GPA.

A full list of individual sport academic champions was also released by the LSC, showing that Western New Mexico claimed top honors in women's tennis and men's golf and tennis among others.
