Eastern New Mexico University's football team has been named the 2024-25 academic champion by the Lone Star Conference (LSC), after achieving the highest grade point average among all ten LSC member institution football teams. The program recorded a GPA of 2.859.
Head coach Kelley Lee expressed his satisfaction with the team's accomplishment. "I couldn't be more proud of the young men in our program. They are the epitome of what it means to be a student athlete," Lee said. "We go into every year with the goal of having the highest GPA in the Lone Star Conference and to see all that hard work come to fruition is very rewarding for our young men."
This is the seventh time in nine years that Eastern New Mexico's football team has received this recognition for academic achievement within the conference.
Additionally, more than 80 student-athletes from Eastern New Mexico's football program were named to the LSC Commissioner's Honor Roll during either the fall 2024 or spring 2025 semester.
The Greyhounds will start their 2025 season at home against New Mexico Highlands on August 28, with tickets available for purchase beginning August 21.
