Former Eastern New Mexico University (ENMU) student-athlete Shacie Marr has been named assistant coach for the university's rodeo program. The appointment was announced by head rodeo coach John Sharp.

"Greyhound rodeo will benefit greatly from Shacie (Marr) in the role as assistant coach. She will give our student-athletes a great insight in how to be successful as a student and an athlete," said head coach John Sharp. "She loves Eastern and has done great things as a student-athlete. I am looking forward to see her shine as part of the coaching staff."

Marr recently concluded a five-year career with ENMU's rodeo team, where she played a key role in the team's successes, including helping the Greyhounds secure a win at the College "Daze" rodeo in 2022. Throughout her tenure, Marr consistently ranked among the top competitors in the southwest region and advanced to the College National Finals Rodeo (CNFR) twice—competing in barrel racing in 2021 and goat tying and breakaway roping in 2025, finishing 12th nationally in breakaway.

During the 2024-25 season, Marr finished second overall in women's all-around standings within the southwest region, accumulating 848.33 points over ten events.

"I am excited. I have a lot of passion and care about this program," said new assistant coach Shacie Marr. "This is a great time to advocate for the team and grow the program. I thank director of athletics Kevin Fite and coach John Sharp for this opportunity to give back to a team that means so much to me."

Marr began her duties as assistant coach on August 11.
