The University of New Mexico's women's soccer team will begin its 2025 season with an exhibition match against UTEP on Thursday at 7:30 p.m. in Albuquerque. The game marks the first opportunity for nine new players to take the field in a Lobo uniform.

Although the outcome of Thursday’s exhibition will not be reflected in UNM’s official season record, it serves as a chance for coaches to evaluate newcomers and see how the team handles competitive situations ahead of their regular schedule.

After the exhibition, UNM will open its season at home against Texas Southern. This match is part of a busy August, during which the Lobos will play five matches, only two of which are at home. In total, UNM has eight non-conference games scheduled before starting conference play at the end of September; just three of those non-conference games are on their home field.

The Lobos’ conference schedule includes five home matches, featuring games against Utah State and Boise State—the Mountain West Preseason No. 1 and No. 2 teams—along with Grand Canyon, Colorado College, and Wyoming.

Admission to all eight home matches for the 2025 season is free.
