The Museum of Indian Arts and Culture in Santa Fe has announced the return of its “Breakfast with the Curators” lecture series, set to begin in August 2025. The program offers visitors a chance to meet and learn from artists, anthropologists, scholars, and curators during breakfast at the Museum Hill Cafe. Following breakfast, participants can attend presentations and take part in gallery tours and behind-the-scenes experiences at the museum.

The first event is scheduled for August 12 and will feature an exhibition tour of Makowa: The Worlds Above Us. Co-curators Dr. Elisabeth Stone, Deputy Director of the Museum of Indian Arts and Culture, and Marlon Magdalena (Jemez Pueblo), Instructional Coordinator for Jemez Historic Site, will discuss their collaborative work on this exhibit.

According to organizers, the event starts at 8:30 a.m. with breakfast, followed by a presentation and exhibition tour until 10:30 a.m. Tickets are priced at $40 for general admission or $35 for members of the Museum of New Mexico Foundation; ticket prices include museum admission. Advance reservations are required for participation. Additional information about scheduling is available through the museum’s Calendar of Events page: https://indianartsandculture.org/calendar.

The Museum of Indian Arts & Culture operates as part of the Department of Cultural Affairs under oversight from the Board of Regents for the Museum of New Mexico. Its programs are supported by both the Museum of New Mexico Foundation and private donors. The institution’s mission focuses on stewardship and education regarding the artistic and cultural achievements of Native peoples in the Southwest.

“Breakfast with the Curators” continues to provide opportunities for collectors, connoisseurs, and those interested in learning more about Native American art and culture to engage directly with experts in an informal setting.
